Coyote and Wildlife Information
Residents are advised that an apparently sick or infected coyote has recently been observed within Leisure Village. While wildlife sightings are not uncommon, residents should exercise caution and avoid approaching, feeding, or attempting to interact with any wild animal. Coyotes that are ill or injured may behave unpredictably and could pose a risk to residents, pets, and other wildlife.
Residents are reminded that Leisure Village Rules and Regulations prohibit the feeding of animals and wild birds outside the home. Hummingbird feeders are the only exception. Feeding wildlife can attract coyotes and other animals into residential areas and increase the likelihood of negative encounters.
Please help reduce wildlife attractants by:
• Never feeding coyotes or other wild animals.
• Not leaving pet food, bird seed, or food scraps outdoors.
• Securing trash containers and lids.
• Supervising pets when outdoors and keeping dogs on a leash.
• Reporting sick, injured, or aggressive wildlife to Safety & Security.
Additionally, “feeding or otherwise interacting with wild animals (e.g., coyotes, squirrels)” is a Health and Safety violation under the Rules and Regulations. Residents found feeding or interacting with wildlife may be subject to disciplinary action and monetary penalties.

Landscape Update
Weathertrek Irrigation Controller installations are complete at the Community Center and Villages 15, 24, and 34, with additional work scheduled at the Golf Course and Villages 40, 19, and 25 in the next few weeks.
Routine pruning continues on a 6-7 week cycle. The arborist list for Priority 2 tree removals is complete, and the list for Priority 1 pruning is about 65% complete.
A mainline break in Village 44 is under repair and impacting Villages 38–44, where water service is expected to be interrupted for at least one week.

On July 14 at 2:30 pm in the Assembly Room Ian Anderson, Government Relations Manager from Southern California Edison will be here. He will explain to residents how the HER comparison is constructed, including its limitations for all‑electric homes. Also he will explain all‑electric–specific efficiency programs, tools, and rate education. You will be able to ask questions. We encourage you to attend. |
